Now, let’s dive into these 11 Easy Family Activities for St. Patrick’s Day!
1. Bingo Game
First up we got a St. Patrick’s Day Bingo Game! This bingo card game includes 24 different player cards, 11 player chips cards, and 2 caller cards. The best part is that this game is truly for the entire family since not only can you play up to 24 players at once, but both children and adults can play this together. This is perfect if you have a big family or have a lot friends to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with!
2. Scratch Off Fortune Cards
If you didn’t already know that luck is an iconic concept for St. Patrick’s Day, you know now! These fun fortune cards are a perfect little activity for your family to do on St. Patrick’s Day. You simply give everyone a card with the sticker and have them scratch off the silver film to reveal the fortune underneath. They also have “Congrats Winner” cards and “Special Winner” cards so you can play a lucky draw game. The price could be as simply as an extra candy bar or a little toy!
3. Scavenger Hunt
What kid doesn’t love a good scavenger hunt? Adults too for that matter! I think it has to do with the thrill of simply finding what you’re looking for. Anyway, you can make a scavenger hunt really simple by purchasing these Gold and Green Coins and these Black Kettles for the kids to collect their gold in. Then you simply hide the coins wherever you think it’s a good place (either outdoor or indoor) and then baam! You got yourself a little scavenger hunt. Even though this is super simple to do, kids and adults (but mostly kids) absolutely love it! And don’t worry about not having enough coins as this package contains a total of 200 coins! You’ll find the coins and the kettles below or by clicking on their images:
Tip: The black kettles can be reused for Halloween later on. These kettles also happen to be the perfect size for kids to collect candy in as well as coins!
4. Printable Game Bundle
If you don’t want to buy a bunch of coins and kettles but still want to do some kind of scavenger hunt with your family, I highly suggest this St Patrick’s Day Printable Game Bundle. This set contains ten different games so you’ll have one for each family member!
5. Potato Sack Race
Have you noticed that kids want to race everything and everyone? Going from the house to the car? Race. Going to another room? Race. Going to the bathroom? Race. The answer is always race so why don’t you give into it on St. Patrick’s Day? These St. Patrick’s Day themed Potato Sack are perfect for kids to have a little St. Patrick’s Day race. The best part is that this set with potato sacks also contains two medals (one for first place and one for second place) so you don’t have to come up with a price yourself!
6. Bean Bag Toss Game
This is truly a game for the entire family to enjoy together! It is literally suited for all ages, from the youngest family member to the oldest! As you can tell from the picture, this Bean Bag Toss Game is set up with different holes and you can allocate different points for each hole. When everyone has tossed their bean bag, you add up the points and see who has the most! It will be even more fun if you were to combine this game with the race. Then the person with the most points for each game played would win a grand price (such as a candy bar or be crowned a winner by receiving a St. Patrick’s Day Hat). Oh, an added bonus is that you get a 2 in 1 themes in thise bean bag toss game kit. One for St. Patrick’s Day but also one for Easter! Hello – check and check!
7. Activity & Coloring Books
Activity & coloring books are great on so many levels when it comes to family activities! Not only can they keep your kids busy for hours (when you might need to spend time cooking, cleaning or just relaxing) but they can also improve your kid’s motor skills. This is the foundation for becoming better writers and athletes in their later years! But since it’s the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, I recommend getting them St. Patrick’s Day themed activity and coloring books. For this activity, you can set up a little coloring station where kids can choose an activity or coloring book and start coloring.
You can find the activity & coloring books by clicking on the images or through the links below:
8. Temporary Tattoos
I absolutely loved getting temporary tattoos as a kid! These St. Patrick’s Day themed Temporary Tattoos are easy to use, sweat- and waterproof and can last up to 7 days if you don’t want to wash them off right away. The best part is that you can use them as decoration as well by putting them on drink glasses and even windows! For this activity, you can easily set up a table with the different sheets of tattoos then the kids can go over and choose which one they want to get. Very cool and fun!
9. Make A Leprechaun Sticker
For the next easy family activity for St. Patrick’s Day, I suggest getting this Make A Leprechaun Sticker Set. Just as the title reveals, you make your own Leprechaun craft using a background card and then putting on the stickers where you want. For this activity, you can again just set up a little table where the kids get one background card and then a sheet of stickers. When they finish, they’ll have a cute little St. Patrick’s Day craft to show off or give away. Finally, this sticker set comes in set of 12 so you’ll once again have enough to go around!
10. How to Catch a Leprechaun Children’s Book
This is the perfect activity for all the kids who loves a good story. How to Catch a Leprechaun is a #1 New York Times and USA Today bestselling children’s book recommended by teachers as it is both fun, educational and expands the child’s vocabulary. For this activity, I suggest you gather all the children (and the adults) in your living room or a cozy area and read the story out loud. You can also save this activity until bedtime and let it be a cozy ending to your St. Patrick’s Day.
11. Kids Sewing Kit
The final but not least St. Patrick’s Day family activity includes this fun Sewing Kit. This sewing kit contains everything a sewing beginner needs. You get 12 pre-cut felt patterns, 32 self-adhesive accessories, 5 colors of embroidery thread, 5 safe plastic sewing needles, 1 safe scissors, 1 batch cotton stuffing, and 12 easy to follow instructions. As with the other activities, you can easily set up a table where all the materials and tools are laid out. Then, you let everyone start sewing their crafts while following the instructions. Tip: If one person reads the instructions out loud for everyone to hear, then everyone can follow along and work together for each step of the process making sure no one gets behind.
It is worth mentioning that this kit is not suitable for children under 7 years old. With that said, I suggest offering this sewing kit as an activity station for the older kids and the Make a Leprechaun Sticker for the younger kids.
Bonus: Decorations & Accessories
Did you really think I was going to leave you hanging? Of course not! If you’re doing one, some or even all of these activities for St. Patrick’s Day, you’ll also need some decorations and accessories to make the celebration complete. The truth is, I could probably make a whole other post solely about the decorations for St. Patrick’s Day but I’ve narrowed it down for your (and my) sake. Here is just a list of four different decorations & accessories that can help make your St. Patrick’s Day even better.
1. Accessories
If you ask me, a real celebration includes a lot of accessories! Especially, when kids are involved! To make it easy for you, I found this St Patrick’s Day Supplies Set which includes 12 Shamrock Sunglasses, 12 Shamrock Necklaces, 12 Shamrock Bracelets and 72 Saint Patrick Temporary Tattoos. That’s over 100 pieces of accessories! In other words, this set will make sure there are plenty of accessories for your entire family (and perhaps another one!).
2. Decorations
If you’re going all out on your St. Patrick’s Day celebration, then you’ll definitely need decorations! You can basically take your decorations to many different levels and if I were to list all of the things you would need to win the award for “Best Decorations of The Year” then you’d be reading this post all day. I’ve therefore decided to only include the things I think really make a difference. When it comes to decorations, I think a Banner that tells you what the celebration is about can help keep the spirit up even when things start to go a little south. Secondly, I think a big centerpiece is always something fun to have at a celebration and it can help draw people outside (or whatever you want them to be) rather than having everyone cramming against the food in one room. This Inflatable Cooler gets the job done! It makes sure you have cold drinks for everyone while being entertaining. Not mention that it can be a life saver on a particular hot day! You can get them both by clicking on their images or through the links below:
3. Goodie Bag
This could technically be an activity as well. These Treat Boxes come in a set of 12 and are basically gable boxes made of heavy-duty cardstock paper. You can either fill it with a bunch of goodies and give away after the activities or celebration. Or you can create a little DIY station where the children can take a box and fill it with whatever goodies they’d like. For instance, you could have a table with a lot of different candies, small accessories/decorations, or even toys. Then, the children can pick and choose whatever they want to take home with them. Regardless, these goodie bags are a nice way to part ways after a day of fun and easy family activities.
