1. For Him

We’re starting off pretty general with a Halloween boo basket for him. The idea behind any boo basket is to find items that embrace the Halloween theme while also picking out pieces that he will like and enjoy. And that’s different for every man or boy but I’ve summarized a list of different items and components that you can use or think about when you make your own boo basket for him.

1. Something Cozy

This could be anything you (or rather he) finds cozy such as a blanket, pillow or fuzzy socks/slippers.

2. Piece of Clothing

There’s so many different alternatives here but some great examples are: pajamas (either a whole set or just the bottom/top), socks, underwear, sweater, hat, pants, jacket etc.

3. Something For His Feet

Ideally you’d want to find something cozy for his feet such as a pair of cozy (Halloween themed) slippers but practical sandals/socks or cool sneakers works as well. You could also replace this category with foot care and give him a foot scrub or foot mask instead.

4. Body or Face Care

Skincare is very dependent on his preference and skin type but more general body care items such as deodorant, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, day/night cream, beard trimmer/cream etc. works great.

5. Snacks or Treats

You can’t give him a boo basket and not include any snacks or treats! If something on this list would be mandatory, it is definitely this category. This category pretty much exemplifies itself but ideally you’d want to gather Halloween themed/flavored snacks but his favorites will obviously be a slam dunk as well. Some examples of what you can include here are: beef jerky, chips, nuts, candy, chocolate bars etc.
Tips: If you want to make it a bit more healthy you can replace the snacks/treats with protein bars or fruit (either dried or fresh).

6. Tech/Gadgets

What guy doesn’t love some tech/gadgets? Odds are that some gadget or electronic device is due for an upgrade and you can set the price range as low or high as you want. For the lower price range, you could get a charging cable for his phone (you can never have too many!), AirPods case, Apple Airtag/Samsung Tag, Airtag holder, phone case, or other tech accessory. At the higher price range, you could add AirPods, Headphones, Speaker, Fitness Watch/Apple Watch etc. to the boo basket.

6. Something for His Favorite Hobby

This will obviously be different for each person but some good examples are: protein shake bottle (for the gym guy), golf balls (for the golfer), cleaning slime (for the gamer), lego, book, board game, tickets to a sports event etc.

2. For Boyfriend

For this boo basket we’re changing some things but you can essentially copy and paste the boo basket from before if you got enough inspiration from that one. However, there are some other things you might want to consider when it comes to giving a boo basket for your boyfriend.

1. Give him something he’ll truly appreciate

Similar to the hobby example above but make sure it’s something he really will love to get. For instance, if he’s a gamer, you can give him the cleaning slime which fits the Halloween theme and will be appreciated because you help him keep his keyboard clean. Or if he’s into golf, you can get him a pack of new golf balls since those tend to get used up quite a bit. Or something very simple such as adding his absolute favorite candy or chips to the basket. Something he maybe rarely gets for himself that you want to treat him to.

2. Give him something romantic/sexy

Your fantasy can honestly run wild on this one. You can make coupons and put in the boo basket that basically says whatever you want. For example, you could add coupons that say “date night – my treat” or something more naughty like “free blowjob”. Or instead of adding coupons that you make, you can buy something sexy such as sexy lingerie for you that he gets to enjoy (maybe you dress up as a sexy witch?) or you can buy a sex toy to include in the basket.

3. Something homemade

Like most people, your boyfriend will love anything you’ve made for him. That can be his favorite cookies (perhaps with a Halloween twist?), sexy/romantic coupons or just “free pass” coupons such as game time (if he’s a gamer) or a pass for doing a chore if that’s something you guys share responsibility for.

3. For Husband

The Halloween boo basket for a husband is very similar to the one for a boyfriend although the biggest difference might be that boyfriend and girlfriend relationships tend to be among younger people and husband and wife relationships tend to be among older people which essentially only means a slight shift in interests and preferences. I’ve highlighted some examples:

1. Give him time

With a husband, you’ll most likely have shared responsibilities regarding your home, economy and children (if you have that). Thus, a great item to give your husband in a boo basket (except for all the examples already mentioned above) is time.

This is easily given in the form of a coupon or card where you offer your time to free up some of your husband’s time. For instance, you can offer to take care of the children during an afternoon or a couple of hours so that he can do whatever he wants during that time. Or you might take on some of his chores so that he can do whatever he wants. Or you can hire a babysitter so that you and him can go on date night.

2. Give him something convenient

This might sound completely unromantic but the truth is, gifts that are convenient or make your life easier in some way are incredibly appreciated to receive since it does make your life easier.

For instance, your husband might drink a lot of coffee so you could get him a refill for his favorite roast (perhaps something he doesn’t buy often) or why not get a new flavor that he would never try otherwise. Or he might get a lot of headaches because he doesn’t drink enough water during the day so you get him a water bottle etc. It can be anything really, but the point is that it’s something that will make his life easier or more convenient.

4. For Dad

I think at this point, you probably already have some pretty good ideas (at least I hope you do!) for what you could add in a boo basket for him but there are some things that can be even more relevant to give a dad compared to the other examples above:

1. Something homemade

I know I’ve already mentioned this before but I want to really emphasize this point in this case because any parent will absolutely LOVE whatever you decide to make them because YOU (their precious child and no it doesn’t matter if you’re an adult, you’re still their precious baby) made it. Some examples are a handwritten note declaring why your dad is the best one, some homemade cookies or other treats, or perhaps a painting or other craft you can make.

2. Self care

I don’t know if this only applies to my dad but it feels like this is true for most dads and that is, that they are usually pretty bad at self care. Therefore, I would include some self care items in his boo basket such as hand cream (especially if he works with his hands), foot cream, new perfume or a set of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.

3. Piece of Clothing

This is also already mentioned in the above examples but I feel like this is extra relevant for dads since they tend to hate (or at least dislike) buying new clothes and thus, their wardrobe is pretty much always due for an upgrade. Getting him a cozy zip up or a fleece jacket is an underestimated gift to give your dad, especially during the colder months. Not to mention the classic gift of giving him a pair of socks! It might sound dull to most people but fathers always appreciate a pair of good old socks.

5. For Teen Boys

Moving on to a boo basket for teen boys. As I’ve said before, you can get away with building a pretty good boo basket with the items already mentioned above. However, there are some aspects you might want to consider when creating a boo basket for teen boys.

1. Snacks/treats

Teen boys are still growing which means that they are constantly hungry. So if anything, go heavy on the snacks/treats part of your boo basket. That alone will make the teen boy very happy! If you want to go all in on this, I would recommend you to get this snack box.

2. Skincare

Most teenagers have acne or other skin problems due to the many hormones that swirl around in their body. It might therefore be a great idea to include some skincare products to his boo basket. If you’re unsure of what type of products to give him, a safe bet is to give him facial cleanser. I recommend this gentle cleanser from CeraVe.

2. Piece of Clothing

Since teen boys are still growing, odds are that they need to update their wardrobe quite frequently, so you might already be planning to buy some new clothes for him anyway and thus, you can make that a bit more fun by including it in a boo basket. Some great clothing examples can be: cozy (Halloween themed) pajama pants, sweater, jeans, t-shirts, beanie etc.

6. For Boys

Last but not least, we have a boo basket for boys aka children. This one is probably the most different one from all the other boo baskets but still, not too different after all. Let’s go over some highlights:

1. Snacks/treats

You can rarely go wrong with snacks or treats, especially among kids. So that one is definitely a home run no matter what. However, if you might want to include some more healthier snacks you can replace the candy/chips with some fruits or dried fruit.

2. Toys

This one is probably not a surprise since 90% of the boo basket will need to include some toys. Like the examples above, you can decide the price range for yourself. For the lower price range, you can add a coloring book/activity book, crayons, slime, glow in the dark sticks or a stuffed animal. And for the higher price range, you can add lego, video or computer game, or a toy from their favorite movie character.

3. Halloween Themed Book

I also wanted to recommend adding a Halloween themed book. We live in such a digital world and getting our kids to read books is difficult when they are used to all of these screens that instantly give them the entertainment they seek. That’s why I think Halloween (and other holidays) is a great opportunity to get them a Halloween themed book as a way to make reading a bit more fun.

7. Bonus: For Her

Here’s a bonus for you! Now that you have a bunch of boo basket ideas for him, I’ve also included one for her. It is quite similar to the one for him and honestly, if I got a boo basket that was intended for “him” I would be so happy even though I’m a she. Because as you’ve already realized, all the items in the boo basket are essentially things we all enjoy getting regardless of our gender. That being said, when making a boo basket for her you might want to swap out some of the items for some beauty and/or home decor products such as make up, face masks, pumpkin pillows/mats and other interior decorations.

Take Away

As we wrap up our 6 Halloween boo basket ideas for him, I hope you’ve found inspiration for creating a memorable and enjoyable boo basket. From practical gadgets to tasty treats, there are countless ways to customize a basket that perfectly suits his interests and personality, regardless of his age.
